About me
Jennifer Wright has over 20 years of experience in the field of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). As an AAC Specialist with the Placer County Office of Education in collaboration with the Placer County SELPA, she played a key role in developing the Building Tiered Supports for AAC project, an initiative designed to build AAC capacity in the school setting. Since 2018, this work has continued to grow through the California Statewide Open Access Grant.Jennifer has supported students across a range of grade levels and communication support needs. Her background spans multiple roles within the education system, including speech-language pathologist, special education teacher, AAC specialist, and AAC mentor/coach. She is deeply committed to sustainable AAC implementation in schools and regularly contributes to resource development and professional learning opportunities for multidisciplinary teams.A passionate advocate for communication equity, Jennifer believes the most meaningful part of her work is empowering all individuals to find and use their voice. She has shared her expertise at state and national conferences, helping to elevate best practices in AAC.Jennifer holds a Master of Arts in Communicative Disorders from the University of the Pacific. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association (CSHA), and the United States Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (USSAAC).
